Use Advanced mode in the website builder
Work with site structure, section styling, layout, layers, history, themes, and SEO when the basic editor is not enough.
Advanced mode reveals the builder controls used for structural and design work. Turn it on when you need more than a routine text, image, or link update.
Turn Advanced mode on#
Open the Website Builder, then switch on Advanced mode in the navigation sidebar. Artistplus leaves it on until you turn it off, so you can move between its tools without losing the workspace.
Header and footer#
The header and footer are site-wide structure. Select them from the advanced section list to edit shared navigation and footer content instead of a single page section.
- Header controls the top-level navigation and supported header actions.
- Footer controls the shared information and links at the bottom of every page.
Review these on both desktop and mobile. A long label that fits on desktop can crowd the mobile menu.
Style and layout#
Select a section, then open its advanced editor controls.
- Style changes the visual treatment supported by that section, such as color treatment, typography options, or presentation details.
- Layout changes how the section uses space and arranges its content, including supported alignment and spacing controls.
Make one change at a time and check all device sizes. The section's available controls depend on its type; Artistplus only shows options that the selected section supports.
Layers#
Layers shows the page as an ordered structure. Use it to understand where a section sits, select an obscured section, and inspect the page without hunting on the canvas.
Open Layers
Choose Layers from the advanced workspace.
Select the intended section
Match the layer name with the content on the canvas. The editor follows the selected layer.
Confirm the structure
Check the visible section order and make sure the page tells the story in the sequence you intended.
History#
History gives you a way to inspect and move through recent builder changes during the current editing workflow. Open it when an experiment is not working or you need to understand how the draft reached its current state.
History is not a substitute for publishing discipline. Preview important work, publish only when the site is ready, and do not assume a browser or device will preserve an unfinished editing session forever.
Theme#
Theme changes the site-wide visual system: the supported palette and font pairing applied across pages. Your content stays in place while the site changes appearance.
Open Theme
Choose the Theme control in Advanced mode.
Preview a direction
Try the available palette and typography combinations on the canvas.
Check contrast and consistency
Read body text, buttons, navigation, and image overlays on desktop and mobile.
Publish when ready
Theme changes remain in the draft until the next site-wide publish.
Read Change your theme, colors, and fonts for the complete design workflow.
SEO#
SEO settings control how a page can be described to search engines and link previews. Open Settings, then choose SEO for the current page.
Focus on three things:
- A concise title that names the artist and the purpose of the page.
- A natural description that tells a potential visitor what they will find.
- A clean page address when the setting is available and the page is not already widely shared.
Do not repeat keywords or promise content the page does not contain. Search visibility also depends on publishing a useful, accessible site and giving discovery systems time to recrawl it.
A safe advanced workflow#
- Select the exact page or shared structure you intend to change.
- Make one structural or visual decision at a time.
- Check desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Use History when you need to revisit a recent direction.
- Preview the draft as a visitor.
- Publish the whole site only when every changed page is ready.
